My Story

Inspired by my absolute love of candles and a natural curiosity I started the hobby of candle making a few years ago. I loved the process and crafting so much that I challenged myself to develop a collection of luxury scented candles to sell and share with fellow candle lovers.

My mission was simple – to create beautifully scented candles using the best ingredients; the kind of candles that I love to buy.

After a lot of trial and error patiently testing various waxes, wicks and fragrance combinations, I finally refined a signature collection of candles that I loved and thought others would love too – Ootsie was born*.

Every Ootsie candle has been measured, wicked, poured, labelled and packaged by hand by me using 100% natural wax (for an eco-friendly slower, cleaner burn), lead-free natural cotton wicks and the finest quality luxury fragrance and essential oils.  Aesthetically I wanted to keep things simple and understated and I hope you love this look as much as I do – home fragrance and home décor in one lovingly created, hand crafted package.

* A special mention to my nephew, Campbell, for inspiring the name; when Campbell was a toddler he had trouble saying my name and it came out as Ootsie (so cute!).  When my partner suggested making it an eponymous business, I considered my given name but Ootsie had so much more meaning for me so...
